This is the latest album from London-based composer Dai Fujikura, who co-wrote the collaborative album "Manayachana" with guitarist Shin Sasakubo in 2014 on SMJI. Discovered by the legendary contemporary music composer Pierre Boulez, who sadly passed away earlier this year, Fujikura's works are famous for being among the most frequently performed in the contemporary music world, where most pieces are only performed once (i.e., only at their premiere). In the popular music scene, he has close ties with David Sylvian (ex-JAPAN) and Ryuichi Sakamoto, and has participated in their works as an arranger. Due to these connections, he has also released albums in Japan on Ryuichi Sakamoto's commmons label. Since April 2014, he has served as composer-in-residence for the Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra, and this album is a collection of live recordings of Fujikura's works performed by the Nagoya Philharmonic. This is the first high-quality SA-CD hybrid disc of Fujikura's works, allowing listeners to fully appreciate the exquisite orchestral sound.
