Mick Stender is the new Rock 'n Roll symbol of the 21st century.
This 24-year-old singer-songwriter is an ambitious musician who writes his own songs in the Americana, Rock 'n Roll style. He is inspired by musicians such as Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and Danny Vera.
His debut EP Let's Rock 'n Roll Again was released on May 28. This EP is all about new Rock 'n Roll. Raging guitars, running bass lines and a raw, dark voice. The 50s in a new jacket. With songs like Don't Touch The Hair (inspired by Elvis Presley's Blue Suede Shoes) and I Can Still Remember (the song about lost love), Mick shares part of his diary in the form of songs.
With this EP, Mick was nominated for the Jacques de Leeuw prize and he caught the eye of Giel Beelen, which means that Mick can be a guest on radio NPO 2 every week.
What you see is what you get! That is also what the jury of the Jacques de Leeuw prize says. A sober boy who likes to immerse people in a cool show. Mick's mission is clear: to bring the solid Americana sound to the Netherlands. This is Mick Stender: take it or leave it!
