Note that the music of the game Doom II was in a MIDI-like format. This means that while the notes and general instruments are specified by the author, the exact way each song will sound is determined by the instrument bank of the playing sound-card. Various “soundtracks” can be found circulating on the Internet, which contain the songs recorded in wave format using a specific instrument set. The PUIDs will thus vary considerably.
The soundtrack below, and the attached PUIDs, correspond of Doom II was obtained by recording on a Roland Sound Canvas SC-155, by someone calling themselves LogicDeLuxe.
Note: Since all such recordings are based on the game files, the number of songs and their lengths should be identical. For some reason however, this release and the other in the same release group as itself seem to differ in one song.
