Sally Folk debuted in 2009 with Anglo album, Sally and Me. She decided to make the switch to Franco on her self-titled 2013 work. It proved to be the right call, as the album sold a respectable 15,000 copies, received two Félix nominations, and spawned a number of radio-aired singles. Bilingual artists have the advantage of trying out both tongues to see what yields the greater response. Simple Plan took the tea and crumpets route and succeeded. Sally’s heading down the coffee and croissants avenue, as back with her third LP, she has titled it Deuxième acte. Like MAGIC!, she has gone for a summery yellow colour which suits the music well. Sally’s style shuffles rock, jazz, 60s pop, and at times Spaghetti western cards, carving out a nice niche for herself in territory inhabited by such artists as Nikki Yanofsky and France’s ZAZ. The album has a big feel to it, drenched with professionalism to the core. It is undoubtedly her best album yet. Track “Les heures de visite” is receiving radio love.
