This album is the band’s most ambitious release to date, using more instrumentation and experimentation than anything previously released. The album is a culmination of a couple of years of the band getting together and creating when they had free time.
Chew Toy came together in 2005 after guitarist Mark Twitchell arrived in Macomb, a small college town in western Illinois. Mark had played music with bassist Justin Georges and drummer/singer Josh Fink at the turn of the century before leaving to pursue other endeavors. While away, Twitchell continued sending tapes containing song ideas to Fink and Georges. Upon Twitchell's return, the trio began living together and working on songs that would end up appearing on Chew Toy's first release, the Drawn Together E.P. Chew Toy continued to hone their live show as a three-piece, as well as adding additional guitarists over the years before finally connecting with guitarist Burdette Wetzel. Now as a four piece band, Chew Toy continues to produce their own recordings as well as work on new material for future releases and a fresh experience live show.
