The Maradonas were born in November 1997 in Figino Serenza (Como), after a whole summer passed listening to the Ramones. The band is initially formed by Lino, Igor and Lucone; in 2000 this line-up is joined by Fabrizio. In 1998 first demo-tape untitled “Maradonas”, that is well-accepted. In ’99 it’s the time for another promo “Maradonas 99” with tunes oriented towars band like Queers, Screeching Weasel, Derozer, Impossibili and Ramones. March 2000: first CD “Cheerleader”, produced by Derotten, Heavy Metal Production,Durango95,Burning love, Violent shit, Teenagers united, Brillantina & campari. They printed 1000 copies. After the CD, Fabrizio (solo-guitar) entered in the band, because they needed to have a sound more powerful. The band participates to many Italian compilations, has some interviews and reviews on important magazines and in January 2003 they released their second CD “Alta tensione” produced by Derotten and P.o.t.a. (1000 copies) distributed by Venus, Goodfellas e White n black. The style is more mature and the sound is definitely more powerful. From ’97 to today the Maradonas played a hundred shows in all Italy. In January 2007, after 9 years Igor decided to leave the band and the Maradonas have a new line-up: Lino (bass and vocals), Fabrizio (guitar and backing vocals), Lucone (drums). In summer 2009 the band recorded their third album at Artemista Studio from Spessa po (PV), mastered at the Newmastering Studio in Milan. 12 tunes of Italian PunkRock, with energy and grit.
