"By day, Sean McConnell is an audio engineer, at the helm behind acclaimed records by Chicago bands such as The Bears of Blue River, Dastardly, and Teenage Rage. By night, he travels the country as a folk troubadour under the moniker of Cold Country. A relentless traveler, Sean has already embarked on four tours in support of his first EP, "Monday Morning," recorded in April of 2012. Somewhere between the world weary gruff of Neil Young's Laurel Canyon days and the lo-fi glory of the Elephant 6 collective, it's a collection of stories and characters about his time in the midwest, a place he always heard his father refer to as "the cold country" growing up in Arizona. Sean has since released three new albums as of 2013 and been granted an Artist Residency in Northern Michigan. A cross-country tour will follow in August"
