My Endless Wishes is a newcomer female-fronted band from Sweden which took shape in 2005. Leading forces behind the band is the singer Frida and the guitarist Martin who are also married. After several line-up changes, the band got a deal with Doolittle Records and entered the studio to record its debut work.
The band is influenced by acts like Evanescence, Within Temptation, Elysion, Delain and so on. Of course they’re not so “goth” as Eva neither as symphonic as WT. They’re more into the hard rocking side with symphonic and atmospheric elements. Frida’s voice is good & distinctive and it is kinda all over the place and up front in the mix. The production is a bit “hollow” and lacks the apt heaviness and the crunchy sound of their adversaries. That thing should be taken care of in the future as well as the vocal lines which are somewhat unattractive and flat most of the times.
With a scene being overloaded with female-fronted bands and only a few of the top ones in a good shape, other bands can claim a place in the sun. However, they need to be doing things carefully and very professionally. It’s not easy these days… never was very easy in truth to be told. My Endless Wishes are doing OK in their first attempt but they do miss that big tune that will be the band’s single and will bring lots of fans to the band’s camp. I do wish them luck in their future endeavors…
