To commemorate ten years since its release, GOLDENBOY are excited to announce the re-release of their outstanding 2002 debut lp BLUE SWAN ORCHESTRA completely remastered and with two bonus tracks. When the late Elliott Smith first caught wind of Shon Sullivan’s skills on guitar and keyboards, he quickly drafted him into service; Shon toured and recorded for four years with Elliott, during which time he began developing the solo songs that would become Goldenboy’s classic Blue Swan Orchestra. An important record of its time and a KCRW favorite, Blue Swan Orchestra was hailed upon its release as a lush pop record. The album harkens back to simpler times, featuring Goldenboy classics “Kittens Of Lust”, the optimistic and happily-paced “Sing Another Song for the Winterlong,” and the bittersweet “Summertime” written one late night on a tour bus and featuring vocals by Elliott Smith. A handul of the songs were written by Sullivan during an inspired drive from LA from San Francisco in the early aughts as he pulled over multiple times to sing into a handheld recorder.
