Другие утверждают что дескать, Lync делали нечто удивительное в начале 90тых, скрестив в своем творчестве Christie Front Drive c эстетикой Pavement и Slint, что-то черпая от Drive Like Jehu и команд с Дисхорда. Сэм Джейн (гитара/вокал), Джеймс Бертрам (бас/вокал) и Дейв Шнайдер (барабаны) собрались в 92'ом в пригороде Сиэттла (г. Олимпия, штат Вашингтон). В конце 93 (начало 94) ребята записали сингл Magic Pail, Candy Ass, Landspeed, ну и чуть позже компакт These Are Not Fall Colors оба вышли на K Records. Группа распалась в 1994, в предверии релиза These Are Not Fall Colors. Последний концерт отыграли на Yo Yo a Go Go фесте в родной Олимпии (в этом городке сцена в основном и крутилась вокруг Lync и Unwound) В 1997, лейбл Troubleman Unlimited и K Records, собрали все треки Lync (в том числе неизданный материал) на одном компакт диске под названием Remembering The Fireballs (Part 8). После распада Lync, Сэм Джейн и Дейв Шнайдер играли в Love as Laughter. Джеймс Бертрам до сих пор играет в Red Stars Theory и 764-Hero.
