Chicane — британский музыкант, композитор, автор песен и продюсер Николас Брейсгердл (Nicholas Bracegirdle). Родился 28 февраля 1971 года в местечке Челфонт Сент-Джайлс (Chalfont St. Giles), Бакингемшир, Великобритания. В детстве практиковался в игре на гитаре и пианино. На его игру в значительной степени повлияло творчество Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis и Vince Clarke.
В 1995 году в результате партнерства с Leo Elstob, с которым создана группа Disco Citizens, появляется сингл Right Here Right Now. В это же время Ник основывает свой собственный лейбл Modena Records.
В 1996 году на независимом лейбле Xtravaganza Recordings, основанном другом Ника по колледжу Alex Gold, выходит сингл Offshore, занявший 12 место в UK Singles Chart, вошел в Топ-40 в многих европейских странах и занял 5 место в US Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play чартах в 1997 после переиздания. Затем последовали синглы Lost You Somewhere, Red Skies и внеальбомный Strong In Love с вокалом британской певицы Sylvia Mason-James, которую Ник открыл для себя после прослушивания U2Lemon (Oakenfold & Osborne Remix) на песню "Lemon" в исполнении U2. Существуют две версии вокальной партии для этого сингла. В 1999 году выходит хит Saltwater с вокалом Máire Brennan из песни ClannadTheme from Harry's Game. Вокальная партия Máire Brennan была переделана, а сам сингл занял 6 место в UK charts и 1 место во всех пяти основных танцевальных чартах UK. После создания ремикса на Bryan AdamsCloud Number Nine Ник предлагает Брайану Адамсу вокальную партию на сингле Don't Give Up, который стал самым большим хитом Chicane, дебютировав на 1 месте чартов UK.
В 2000 году Chicane выпускает альбом Behind The Sun, который стал золотым по версии BPI, и два сингла с этого альбома, Halcyon / No Ordinary Morning и Autumn Tactics с легендарным ремиксом от The Thrillseekers.
В 2002 году Ник выступает соавтором и сопродюсером двух треков с альбома CherLiving Proof, "You Take It All" и "Alive Again".
В период 2003-2005 Ник судился с Xtravaganza, в результате Chicane покинул лейбл и подписал контракт с WEA для выпуска третьего альбома, Easy To Assemble. Вышли только сингл Love On The Run и промо Locking Down. Однако, после распространения промо-копий альбома, он не вышел официально, официальный сайт Chicane все время откладывал дату релиза. Позднее выяснилось, что коммерческий релиз был невозможен из-за того, что произошла утечка альбома в Интернет, а сам Ник покинул Warner после продажи последней в 2003 году.
В 2006 году на Universal Music Group выходит сингл Stoned In Love, с вокалом от Tom Jones.
В 2007 Ник покидает Universal и с этого момента весь материал Chicane выходит на собственном лейбле Modena. После выпуска сингла Come Tomorrow свет увидел третий официальный альбом Chicane Somersault, содержащий римейк хита BentAlways.
В 2008 переиздается легендарный Saltwater, но уже в виде мэшапа с песней Natasha BedingfieldI Bruise Easily, названный Bruised Water, а также сборник лучших хитов The Best Of Chicane 1996-2008, содержавший ряд обновленных версий старых хитов и новый трек Wake Up, записанный с группой Keane.
В 2010 году выходит четвертый альбом Giants, в который вошли изданный ранее танцевальная версия хита от исландской группы Sigur RósHoppípolla с ремиксом от The Thrillseekers, под названием Poppiholla, римейк песни Paul YoungCome Back And Stay, и Where Do I Start с ремиксом от Armin van Buuren.
В период с 2011-2012 Chicane выпускает пятый официальный альбом Thousand Mile Stare, с ранее вышедшим хитом Going Deep совместно с рэпером Aggi Dukes, ряд совместных работ с группой Vigri и вокалисткой Kosheen Sian Powell. Вне альбома также был выпущен сингл One Thousand Suns совместно с Ferry Corsten.
В 2012 году на Modena выходит ряд переизданий ранних синглов Chicane в цифровом формате. chicanemusic.co.uk

сидел слушал внимательно и пришёл к выводу что риповка сингла Daylight в 192 что была здесь раньше куда качественней нынешних 320
нынешние 320 играют с повышенным питчем , от этого трек короче чем есть на самом деле и быстрее чем есть на самом деле

Почему-то нет трека Don't Give It Up (instrumental mix) продолжительностью 10 с половиной минут, без вокала, с длинным вступлением с колокольчиками на фоне, а также длинным концом (после окончания ударной партии) - этот трек ищу очень давно, еще с начала 2000-х, но нигде его нет. Единственное где он есть - это запись живого выступления Live in Palladium, именно эта версия там звучит, но на фоне люди орут, так что для прослушивания плохо подходит. Предлагаю добавить этот трек в розыск.
