Notorious punk rockers Dwarves are legendary for their violent onstage antics as well as their eclectic music, which shows the influence of everything from hardcore and pop punk to hip hop. And then there are, of course, the band's notoriously sexy album covers. Often found offensive, the group is also responsible for one of the greatest hoaxes of rock n' roll, staging the death of singer HeWhoCannotBeNamed, only to resurrect him for the release of 1997's YOUNG AND GOOD LOOKING; the prank caused the band to be dropped from the Sub Pop roster. Having included in their ever-revolving roster of collaborators Dexter Holland (Offspring), Black Josh Freese (Vandals, Perfect Circle), Spike (Me First, Gimmie Gimmies), DJ Marz, Luke Sick, and members of the Swingin' Utters, and Queens of the Stoneage among many others, the group has also contributed to soundtracks for films such as GHOST WORLD and ME, MYSELF AND IRENE. The performance featured here, recorded at the Continental Club in New York City in 2004, shows the band out in full force, playing such favorites as "Dominator," "Relentless," "You Gotta Burn," "Astroboy," and "Unrepentant."
