(Reggae) Cookie The Herbalist - Like A Tree - 2010, MP3, 320 kbps

Like many other Reggae artists, Stefano Raschi a.k.a Cookie the Herbalist made his first steps on stage at a very young age. He started singing in a churchchoir in Italy when he was only six years old.
Since 2007 Cookie the Herbalist is a part of the Gideon Production Artistcamp, and summer 2007 was already a very promising start of that collaboration.
As supportact on Jah Masons Tour he appeared at the Rototom Sunsplash in Italy (the biggest Reggae festival in Europe) and at the Rumble Reggae Festival in Germany. In Interlaken (Switzerland) he was even the supportact for Ziggy Marley. He hosted the Dancehallschool-partyseries @ Kiff club in Aarau and also the Swiss Singjay Linkup @ Schützi Olten. In 2008 he toured without break trough almost every Swiss club, like the Gaskessel in Bienne the Kofmehl in Solothurn, the Kiff in Aarau, the Schützi in Olten, the Grabenhalle in St. Gallen just to name a few.
In January 2008, Cookie released the song „Don’t you tell me“ on Rootdown Records I love – Riddim. This song made it to almost every swiss radiostation and was celebrated over months by the biggest swiss Internet radio DRS Virus.
In septemer 2008 Cookie the Herbalist’s first official EP „The Good Weed“ was released. It contains riddims of european Reggae giants like the Ganglords or the House of Riddim Band. Even a combination of Cookie with Switzerlands Reggae star Cali P is to be heard on it. The „Good Weed“ – EP is even available online, worldwide on every downloadshop.
After countless shows and a outstanding EP in just one year, we can be very interested for what Cookie will bring out next year! The young singjay with the loud and unique voice is already working on new songs, even an album is planned and there are many more shows the program. Cyaan stop!

With „The Good Weed“, Cookie the Herbalist presents five brandnew songs packed and bundled to his first official EP. „The Good Weed“ is a very outstanding work of the young uprising singjay and with the collaboration of wellknown producers like the Ganglords, Sam Gilly (House of Riddim), the Swiss Reggae Star Cali P and many more, it reached the top level of european Reggae.
„Original herbsman me name ah Cookie, grow di best greenery fi you and fi me“, Herbtunes, Lovesongs and Reality -lyrics, Cookie presents a wide window but remains true to original Reggae music.
„I keep talking in punchlines, tha’s why me sound get played at primetime“ he sings in the song „Cyaan Stop“ with Cali P and it makes no difference if it’s One Drop or a Dancehall – riddim. Cookie rhymes and flows skillfully and with his unique voice he gives every song his special stamp.
With the song „Love Affair“ he convinces with much soul and feeling. „Gwaan fi follow you everywhere – when you need me I be there – maybe not a gentleman but fi you me ah go care…“. And with the partyhits „The Good Weed“ and „Cyaan Stop“ he’ll rock every Dancehall! For sure!
In early 2009 Cookie released two hot new tracks for the Dancehall. One of them called “Who dem”, a powerful tune with a little autotune supply. The other tune “Words” is like the title says, a big amount of words wich Cookie spits with an old – schoolish-leanback – flow over a riddim by Pianomigi (keyboarder of the Dubby Conquerors).
The tune “Stories Pon Stories” made it to the Weedy G/African Beat – Bubbler Riddim – Selection. Big tune dat!!
Another tune called “La Vida Buena” was recorded for a Hispanic Riddim Selection by Riddim Clash Sound from Madrid
Cookie made a whole bunch of dubplates in 2009 some of them for Sounds from Germany, Spain and even Brazil.
He played many shows with his backing band the Vital Roots and the singer Andrew Robinson, and many soundshows with the Bombo Clan Sound.
Cookie’s and Cali P’s hit tune “Cyaan Stop” (The Good Weed EP) was lirycally arranged to a dub wich is to be heard on one of the wildest Freestyle Ski – Movies of the year “Every day is Saturday” by Poorboyz Prod., Redbull and Salomon. The tune musically underlines the section starring the Ski Stars Tanner Hall and CR Johnson. Sick video really!
Everytime when Cookie finds a little time you can find him in the Soundmax Studios where he’s working on his upcoming Album wich will be the next chapter of the Cookie The Herbalist – Story….. Stay tuned!
