5) WE OWN an original copy of each and every recording we have produced. We have heard the rips that you can download from the net and we have created an no-frills alternative. "No-frills" means that we do not filter or process the music AT ALL. When you download a vinyl rip, you are getting somebody else's idea of how the music should sound. The individual who uploaded the rip also ran the music through software that "de-clicked " and "de-popped" the recording. However "light" the settings might've been, this is still destructive to the overall sound. Through no fault of the original uploader, who is doing what they think is right, YOU do not get to hear what the vinyl ACTUALLY sounds like. We produce PROFESSIONAL recordings that are one-of-a-kind. Short of playing the actual vinyl the way it was originally released, you CANNOT get the sound or quality that On Vinyl offers - you just can't!
6) These recordings ARE 1st generation, in-house, pristine 1:1 vinyl transfers from the original vinyl pressing. Again, these are professionally engineered recordings. A ll of us here at On Vinyl are avid fans of this music and we've all been involved in making/recording music since 1983. Our staff includes a professional musician who understands the technical aspects, the theory and performance of music. This is crucial for evaluation of the source material. On Vinyl also employs an expert graphic arts team to fulfill all visual needs. The On Vinyl lab only approves and produces a recording package after vigorous testing.

This is the first release in a series of volumes that present an era of Sonic Peace - before The Loudness Wars. Before the complete proliferation of household compact disc players, quality musical recordings were to be gotten on vinyl pressings (known then as "records"), available at your local Record Shop. This was the day of Dynamic Range.
This peaceful era is exactly what On Vinyl captures in today’s 1’s and 0’s. In every way, these Volumes are faithful reproductions of the classic, "pre-war" vinyl experience.
THE SOUND: These are not "remastered from the original," these are the ORIGINAL recordings - 1:1 vinyl transfers to digital! All of the original dynamic range is retained – for YOU to exploit with an Equalizer (just like we did back in the day). There are no frills beyond what the original recording has to offer. There are no added filters. No normalizing. No added EQ. No dB boost. Think of it as WYHIWYG (what YOU hear is what YOU get). Repeat: "notta-rheem-aster." These discs are professionally burned, one at a time at 6x speed on BLACK media. This provides for SUPERIOR sound like you have never heard before. These discs are thoroughly tested and WILL play on your CD player.
THE LOOK: All original jackets and artwork are piously reproduced in stunning photography. These are not corporate "stock photos," but one of a kind photographic representations of the actual physical item. As a matter of fact, the vinyl used in the recording of this set was also photographed and actually came from out of the very same jackets pictured here! All of the recordings presented by On Vinyl were, at one time, available at your local Record Shop.
