Вышедший в 1970 году, за месяц до релиза Битловской лебединой песни "Let It Be", альбом "McCartney" стал первым сольным альбомом Пола. Примечателен тем, что все инструментальные и вокальные партии он исполнил сам (за исключением бэк-вокала Линды). Это пластинка, насыщенная экспериментами, и именно на ней впервые появилась композиция Maybe I’m Amazed. «Работа над альбомом "McCartney" была весьма забавной, - вспоминает Пол, — я взял у EMI аппарат — всего лишь четырёхдорожечный магнитофон — и поставил его у себя дома в гостиной в Лондоне. Я просто входил туда днём, как месье Магритт: немного поэкспериментировать, что-то придумать, записать, а вечером заканчивал. Это был очень интересный опыт и в нём чувствовалась определённая “сырость”, потому что я как бы вырывался на свободу после The Beatles — думаю, у всех нас тогда было такое ощущение.

Album Notes
Like many debut albums, Wings' Wild Life wasn't a real reflection of what was to come, its guiding ethos being Paul’s intention to record the entire piece quickly. Taking just two weeks, Wild Life was about spontaneity: the opening track ‘Mumbo’ was recorded in one take. “I’d read that Bob Dylan had just made a quick album,” Paul explains, “and I really liked the idea, because we tended to take longer and longer to make records. The early albums by The Beatles hadn’t taken long and it seemed to me that Dylan was getting to that. I was a great admirer of his – and still am to this day – so I thought, Well, if it’s good enough for him, let’s do it. Linda was heavily pregnant with Stella while we were recording. If she’d have wanted to stop the sessions we would have done, but it just didn’t arise. A lot of women work until two weeks before the baby is due and that’s what Linda did.” The actual pregnancy was a difficult one and as Paul slept next to his wife he had vivid dreams about angels: “And I thought, that’s a nice image, wings. I wonder if there’s been a band called Wings? That’s how the name came about, in King’s College Hospital, in London, as we recovered from the birth of Stella. So Wings became the name.” Paul, Linda and drummer Denny Seiwell were joined for the album by the former Moody Blues singer Denny Laine, destined to remain with Wings throughout.

Album Notes
With the addition of Irish guitarist Henry McCullough, Wings plugged away on their second album Red Rose Speedway through most of 1972, a year in which they issued no album (a first for Paul since The Beatles’ debut). By December they'd accumulated a vast amount of songs, though the idea of releasing a double-album was eventually rejected. The album did, however, include the global hit, ‘My Love’, a song that's since been covered by the likes of Cher, Corinne Bailey Rae and Brenda Lee. One song that was recorded around this time and saved for a later date was ‘Live And Let Die’, from the James Bond film of the same name. The original vinyl pressing of the album featured a 12-page booklet stapled into the gatefold, while the back cover included a Braille message for Stevie Wonder, reading “We Love You Baby”. Paul’s fifth album since the break up of The Beatles, Band on the Run was made under difficult circumstances: band members Denny Seiwell and Henry McCullough left before recordings began in Lagos, Nigeria – which itself proved a challenging environment to work in. Despite the setbacks, Paul, Linda and Denny Laine persevered and Band on the Run – complete with its famous celebrity-packed cover art – proved a triumph. The album topped the US chart three separate times; in the UK, it was the biggest selling studio album of 1974 and spent a miraculous 124 weeks on the chart. Its success has endured and in 2000 the album was included in Q magazine's list of Greatest British Albums Ever, as well as Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. It was re-released in March 1999 to celebrate the 25th anniversary, and again in 2010, as the first release in the Paul McCartney Archive Collection, featuring the remastered album, with rare bonus audio and video content, all in new packaging. Album Notes
Venus And Mars was the first of two albums to feature what many (Paul included) regard as the perfect Wings line-up, with the McCartneys and Denny Laine now joined by guitarist Jimmy McCulloch and drummer Joe English. Recording was done in New Orleans and Los Angeles. As Paul remembers, “I felt really comfortable with that band. I had written Venus And Mars songs in Jamaica – we were getting around a bit in those days! – and had the album pretty much mapped out. Even though we didn’t use the style of New Orleans on the album, it influenced the way we felt about the music and added to the spirit.” In September of '75 the band started a year-long worldwide tour in support of the album, playing to over 600,000 people in America alone. Album Notes
Reinforced by months on the road, the cohesion of a settled line-up was much in evidence on Wings At The Speed Of Sound, the band's fifth album. So much so, that each band member had at least one lead vocal performance, including Linda's ‘Cook Of The House’ and Denny Laine’s ‘Time To Hide’. Made at Abbey Road Studios, it was Paul’s first album to be recorded in Britain since Red Rose Speedway. Two more hardy perennials emerged in the shape of ‘Let ’Em In’ and ‘Silly Love Songs’. The album was another massive success, peaking at Number 2 in the UK (where it was the fourth biggest album of the year) and topping the charts in the US, spending nearly a year in the Top 100. Album Notes
London Town – Wings' seventh album – saw the departure of both Jimmy McCulloch and Joe English from the line-up, Linda’s pregnancy (with James), a song written for Michael Jackson (‘Girlfriend’) and recording one of the biggest-selling singles of all time, ‘Mull of Kintyre’. (Released before the album was completed, the track did not appear on London Town until a 1993 reissue.) Despite its title, the album was recorded in the Virgin Islands, not least because of the weather. The relaxed atmosphere made for a light, pleasingly laidback and hugely melodic album that went on to achieve huge success. Performed by:

We thought of recording 'London Town' in the Virgin Islands on the basis, I think, that it was warmer there. There wasn’t a studio but we took mobile equipment and installed it on a boat – it was as good as being in a proper studio, but if you wanted to have a break you could dive off the side for a swim! In a typical day we’d swim, have breakfast, sunbathe a while, just like you do on holiday, and then putter across in the dinghy to the other boat and make some music for a few hours. Paul

Album Notes
McCartney II was Paul’s first solo album since the formation of Wings in 1971. While its highly electronic style was certainly innovative, its cosily domestic origins were reminiscent of 1970’s McCartney album. (Aptly, the two were reissued at the same time in 2011, as part of the remastered Paul McCartney Archive Collection, with extra audio and video material.). Recorded in the summer of 1979, when the future of Wings remained uncertain, the album was conceived at home on Paul's farm in Scotland. The first song recorded for the project was ‘Check My Machine’ (eventually included as a B-side on the ‘Waterfalls’ single), inspired by Paul’s experiments with his new equipment. Work on the album was interrupted to make way for what turned out to be Wings’ last tour, but it was finally released in May 1980. Instruments & voices by Paul McCartney

Album Notes
Tug Of War was Paul's first solo album after Wings’ split was confirmed, and followed the death of John Lennon, whose memory is poignantly evoked on the track ‘Here Today’. While the title hints at an album about power struggles, Paul saw it more as an album “of opposites”. As he says, it focuses on “duality. Yes and No, Up and Down, Man and Woman. Always some kind of conflict, even if you’re married and in love, she’s still a girl, you’re still a boy… It’s not easy to bring together two sides of a coin.” The album saw him reunite with producer George Martin and included two duets with Stevie Wonder, one of which, ‘Ebony And Ivory’, was Number 1 on both sides of the Atlantic. The sessions were so fruitful that a number of songs were held over for Pipes Of Peace, which followed in 1983. Upon its release, Tug Of War was nominated for the 1983 Grammy for Album of the Year. Featuring songs initially recorded during sessions for the Tug Of War album, Pipes Of Peace continued Paul's rich vein of song-writing form and included two massive hits, the Michael Jackson duet ‘Say Say Say’ and the title track. The collaboration with Jackson – then the biggest star on the planet thanks to the success of his Thriller album – extended to another track, the breezy ‘The Man’. Lyrically, the album features Paul’s thoughts on love, peace and the future, centred around the symbol of the pipes of peace. Album Notes
CHOBA B CCCP, the Russian translation of “Back In The USSR”, was released in the Soviet Union in 1988, making Paul the first artist from the West to issue an album exclusively for that market. (It was released in the rest of the world following the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991.) Ruminating on the next stage of his career following 1986's Press To Play, Paul decided he wanted to get back to his roots, so hired three session musicians and spent just two days covering his favourite hits from the 1950s. The recording sessions produced 22 songs in total, 13 of them ending up on the final album, with one of the songs left off being a cover of The Beatles' ‘I Saw Her Standing There’. For Paul, it was a deeply personal album and a way to acknowledge fans who had supported him and The Beatles since the start. “When I was very young I asked my dad if people wanted peace,” Paul explained at the time. “He said to me, ‘Yes, people everywhere want peace – it’s usually politicians that cause trouble.’ It always seemed to me that the way The Beatles’ music was admired in the USSR tended to prove his point, that people the world over have a great deal in common. Album Notes
Mixing technology with traditional instruments such as brass, strings and organ, Flowers In The Dirt featured several tracks composed with fellow musician Elvis Costello. The album – seen by many as a strong return to form – also featured musicians that Paul would come to use regularly like Hamish Stuart, Robbie McIntosh and Chris Whitten, and production from the likes of Trevor Horn, Mitchell Froom and Steve Lipson. The album crashed into the UK charts at Number 1 in June 1989 and spent nearly a year in the US charts. Specifically recorded with a view to live performance (the huge Paul McCartney World Tour started in September of that year), the album has a strongly cohesive feel to it. But it was a personal album, too, with the single ‘Put It There’ inspired by Paul's father. “'Put it there’ was an expression my dad used to say when we were kids. He used to hold his hand out and say, ‘Put it there if it weighs a ton.’ My dad died a long time ago now, but you remember those things with affection. Album Notes
Having been heavily involved in The Beatles’ Anthology project, Paul had time to reflect on the standards he and his bandmates had set during their career, and applied these to what would become his first album in four years. Made in a much more spontaneous style, with songs recorded here and there, mostly on holiday, it's an album that luxuriates in its own sense of fun. Featuring producers George Martin and Jeff Lynne, as well as musicians including Steve Miller, Ringo Starr and his own son, James McCartney, Flaming Pie would go on to become one of Paul's most acclaimed albums. Sales were brisk, with the album only kept from the Number 1 slot on both sides of the Atlantic by the cultural phenomenon that was the Spice Girls' Spice album. Paul didn't tour in support of the album, but did turn his hand to a then-fledgling form of promotion, hosting an online chat party which found its way into the Guinness Book of World Records for the most people in an internet chat room at once. Зальники и сборники, равно как симфонические работы, находятся за гранью моих интересов. Список того, что я б с удовольствием добавил, но не нашел достойных исходников: 1979 Back to the Egg
1986 Press to Play (упаковка винил-рипа доступна в соседней теме) 1993 Off the Ground
1999 Run Devil Run
и закрыл бы тысячелетие 2001 Driving Rain. Сэр Пол - Волшебный Мелодист и Аранжировщик-Ювелир (всё с большой буквы), но более поздние метания от симфоний к джазу и взад, или еще краше - маркетинговые 3 версии одного альбома, что-то не просятся в мою коллекцию, хотя честно отслушаны с подобающим уровнем уважения к работе мастера.

Пока что выглядит так, будто пассажир слева выскочил и пальнул с двух стволов от бедра той единственной пулей из дерьма, которой вооружился на данном ресурсе. Он везде её использует уже пять лет, ага.. Какой конкретно САКД из 14-ти предоставленных здесь удостоен Ваших бесценных брюзжаний?
Вы вообще определились в какую тему пишете, или методом случайного тыка шаблоном херакнули по многолетней привычке?
Так это не настоящие SACD, а слепленные из 24/96 флаков-источников! А я-то думаю, почему файлы iso, сканы дисков - от обычных CD. Зачем так делать, зачем людей вводить в заблуждение? Выложили бы просто сами флаки...
