Первоначально группа исполняла кавер-версии чужих песен в многочисленных альпийских городках. Название музыканты позаимствовали с вывески одного парижского бара.
Дебютный сингл был выпущен в 2005 году под названием «Fill My Little World». Первый полноценный альбом «Twelve Stops and Home» (2006) поднялся до второй строчки в британском чарте. В поддержку альбома «The Feeling» отправились в турне по Соединенным штатам, а вернувшись на родину продолжили тур в Великобритании и Ирландии. В 2006 году группа стала любимицей радиослушателей Соединенного королевства - «The Feeling» ставили чаще, чем любого другого исполнителя.
«Join With Us», второй альбом, вышедший в феврале 2008 г., взобрался на первую строчку чартов Великобритании. Записан он был в Англии, а сведен в США.
27 июня 2008 года «The Feeling» впервые выступили на легендарном фестивале в Гластонбери. Для Дэна Селлса этот день был вдвойне волнительным, поскольку его отец приехал посмотреть на выступление своего отпрыска.
В ноябре группа отправилась в свое самое большое турне по Британским островам, дав более 20 концертов.
