If you like your music raw and unfiltered, this release by WDDS on Hectare Discs Recordings might be for you. It doesn't consist of highly polished synthetics or insane sound design, preferring to spend its time dwelling on ambient sweeps and tinkling piano riffs, all of which are cut through with drums that ring true in their old-school approach to sonic construction. It's more Astrophonica than bright and colourful D&B and we love it, especially track two 'Twilight', which is aptly named through its approach to subtle melancholia, pleasantly unvarnished soundscapes and gentle progression. One to check out.
