Об исполнителе (группе)
The accordion ensemble of Merzhausen, founded in 1982, is one of these rarely found ensembles. In Merzhausen, a culturally remarkably active place at the outskirts of the Breisgau metropolis Freiburg, six excellent soloists have founded an ensemble, which stands out due to its most rhythmical precision of ensemble playing, a balance of sound and dynamics at its best and a superbly refined skill of perfomance.
The short history of the ensemble is very much characterized by its numerous concerts in which the players always succeed in making the audience feel enthusiastic the music.
This fact is one of the reasons for which the ensemble has been receiving numerous invitations by the broadcasting corporation Südwestfunk to participate in radio programmes. These performances on the radio made the ensemble known to a vast audience. The audience's positive reactions meant a lasting success for the ensemble.
The first documentation of the ensemble is the compact disc recorded in 1986, which exceeded all expectations.
In accordion circles the popularity of the ensemble is mainly based, beside its concerts, on the outstanding part it has played in international music competitions so far. In 1987, the ensemble won the internationally announced Rudolf-Würthner-Cup, the most important competition in the field of music ensembles. By winning this cup the ensemble reached a remarkable artistic pinnacle in their instrument that the music has become an integral part of their life. They regard ensemble playing as a change from the daily routine.
