ROYNO, known as part of the successful songwriting duo Jazzamor, brings his musical ideas to life with his solo project, creating relaxed and imaginative piano melodies. ROYNO emerges not only as a pianist and bassist in his compositions, but also through his mastery of electronic sounds and sound manipulation. This gives rise to parallel, interlocking soundscapes. It is not a mere scene of a pianist accompanied by a band, but rather a landscape where his piano melodies stand boldly alongside independent sounds, each asserting its own presence. He releases his first solo album Play North in December 2022. Atmospheric piano compositions about Nordic secrets and Scandinavian legends. Piano in my bag, his second release starts in 2025. A musical odyssey that whisks listeners away to different corners of the world. This deft interplay perhaps makes the theme of travel so resonant and relatable, as explored in the titles of his new album. These are places where one may dive deep, only to resurface somewhere unexpected and unforeseen. The music never imposes upon us where we must journey, yet it effortlessly facilitates our voyage. The collaboration with percussionist Carlos Serono del Rio reveals their rich shared musical history. His playing seamlessly weaves into ROYNO's world of sound with an ease borne of long familiarity. And therein lies the beauty of ROYNOS piano music: through its soundscapes, it intricately links all the places it has previously led us to.
