Биография:
Lucky Philip Dube (3 августа 1964 г. – 18 октября 2007 г.) был южноафриканским регги-музыкантом. Он стал самым продаваемым в Южной Африке исполнителем.
Будучи ребенком, Lucky Dube работал садовником. Но так как этой работой семью было не прокормить, он начал ходить в школу. Там Lucky Dube и узнал о движении Растафари. В 18 лет он присоединился к поп-группе The Love Brothers своего двоюродного брата. С ней Lucky Dube записал 5 альбомов.
Первым регги-альбомом стал мини-альбом Rastas never die. Продажи оказались малы – около 4000 единиц. Но уже второй альбом Think about the children стал платиновым и сделал Lucky Dube популярным как на Родине, так и за ее пределами.
Lucky Dube продолжал записывать успешные альбомы. В 1989 г. Он получил 4 награды OKTV Awards: за альбом Prisoner, спустя 1 год - за альбом Captured live, и еще годом спустя - 2 награды за альбом House of exile. Альбом Victims (1993) разошелся по всему миру тиражом более 1000000 экземпляров. В 1995 г. Lucky Dube подписал контракт со звукозаписывающей компанией Motown.
