From alto saxophonist, composer and bandleader Sedqwick's debut album "Volt", the 1996 Jazz I Sverige album, in an interpretation of a Roland Kirk composition. Most of the debut album is taken up by Sedgwick's three-part composition Volt.
2. Monica Zetterlund and Monica Dominique & the Jazzstudio Orchestra: What´s New (CAP22053, CD 2.)
Zetterlund sings in a 1965 radio recording in an arrangement by Dominique, who is also conductor of the orchestra. The versatile artists continued their collaboration, including on the album Monica - Monica, 1971, with Monica Dominique as arranger, on which she also appears as pianist, organist and composer.

4. Monica Borrfors Quintet: Your Touch (CAP21350).
Singer Monica Borrfors became the first woman to be chosen as a Jazz in Sweden artist, along with her group, in 1987.The title track from the debut album is a composition by the group's pianist Gösta Nilsson with lyrics by Eric Bibb. The album was awarded a Grammis in 1988 for the best jazz recording of the year.
5. Ann-Sofie Söderqvist in Änglaspel: Det finns luft. (CAP21848)
The group was named Jazz in Sweden winner in 1982. The album was partly recorded live at the jazz club Fasching in Stockholm. One of the soloists in this number is trumpeter Ann-Sofie Söderqvist, in a composition by pianist Stefan Forssén. Söderqvist is also a composer and arranger and now leads her own large band.
6. Annika Skoglund & Opposite Corner: Song for Mocambique (CAP21891)
Annika Skoglund was a student at the Gothenburg School of Opera when she was hired to perform on the album "Low-High", 1982. There followed many years of collaboration with the group. Skoglund has, as as a singer, she has sought to maintain a broad range, with both opera and jazz in her repertoire. The vocals were written by Semenya McCord.
7. Wildbirds & Peacedrums There is no light (CAP21796)
The duo received the Jazz i Sverige-artister award in 2008, when they released their second album "The Snake". Singer Mariam Wallentin is a co-composer and has also written all the lyrics on the album.

In connection to the 10 year anniversary of the music organization IMPRA, Caprice Records releases a digital collection showcasing female artists in jazz and improvisational music, all part of Caprice’s rich catalogue. The 30 tracks feature vocalists, instrumentalists, arrangers, improvisers, and composers.
Over 70 years bridge the distance between the oldest and youngest contribution; the singer Mabel Albins, 1938, and singer-songwriter Edda Magnason, 2010. Several of the artists present on this collection have been honoured with the Jazz in Sweden award, some not without controversy as they’ve stretched the genre boundaries and challenged perceptions of what jazz is and can be.
The most common instrument for women in jazz is still the voice, but today, singers are also often composers and arrangers. Pioneers like pianist Monica Dominique, trumpeter Ann-Sofie Söderqvist, and pianist Elise Einarsdotter are represented, musician who, together with younger colleagues, still develops the Swedish jazz stage.
