Об альбоме (сборнике)
On her new album for Sony Classical, versatile soprano Patricia Petibon presents fascinating portraits of female heroines from Purcell, Mozart and Gluck to Verdi and Offenbach. French soprano Patricia Petibon has long been celebrated worldwide for her musical versatility on the operatic stage. Thus, with her silvery yet nuanced voice, she shines and fascinates in baroque opera as well as in the great Mozart roles, and also feels at home in some of Verdi's parts. This richness of facets and her wide range of expression are also reflected in her new album "La Traversée". The title can be translated here in German as "Überquerung" or better "transmission". In this sense Patricia Petibon also wants the program to be understood. "Past, present, future form a whole, interconnected by transmission. The epic story of tragic heroines, constantly repeated, is what links the times together," says Patricia Petibon. The musical spectrum of arias and songs on "La Traversée" ranges from works by Purcell, Rameau, Handel and Gluck to Mozart, Verdi and Offenbach. The accompanying, renowned La Cetra Baroque Orchestra, conducted by Andrea Marcon, can also be heard performing the "Passacaglia della vita" by Stefano Landi.
