One guy from Marseille, the other from Paris, two from the Jura mountains, the other a lost bewildered Irishman from Dublin that somehow managed after traveling around the world to bump into them in the middle of nowhere in the east of France and find a loving muse of a home: BIGGER. The band started recording and touring in 2016, have released two EPs "Bones and Dust" and "Tightrope" and have played numerous venues across Europe and festivals such as "Les Eurockéennes de Belfort", "Les Transmusicales", and "Le Bataclan" in Paris.
They drove across half of France, most of Germany, flew to the UK during lockdown to record in Castle Studios in Dresden, and Hope Mill Studios in Manchester. They have now completed their debut album "Les Myosotis", produced by Jim Spencer (New Order, Liam Gallagher, Johnny Marr).
BIGGER have now decided to come back to the singer's hometown in the #bringkevinbackhome campaign to play and celebrate the release of their debut album, inspired by the likes of Anna Calvi, Villagers, The Doors, The Beatles, Serge Gainsbourg… They also are currently working with Larry Mullins (Nick cave and the Bad Seeds, Iggy Pop and the Stooges) on an ambitious project with 12 classical musicians, for 2022.
In the upcoming album, the band explores a weird and freaky world, stories of the after-hours, dead-end bars, failed romances, stalkers, fraternity, and redemption for the outsiders. The sounds on this album include some off the wall instruments like harpsichord, vox organs, fuzzed out vintage guitars, and psychedelic drum patterns.
Live, this band uses all the above to craft their sound, and the frontman Kevin Twomey usually finds himself standing on the bar with half the audience wrapped up in the mic cable, urging them to take part in a moment of Carpe Diem and pure chaos.
