The music of the Trio characterized by the great sound impact and the plurality of musical language, suggested by the same source material: blues, folk, jazz, improvisation and last but not least rock, intertwine in this border and research, which alternates acoustic moments with electric and electronic sounds.
The United States, wrote Cesare Pavese, are «the gigantic theater where everyone's drama was recited with greater frankness than elsewhere. American culture in those years allowed us to see our own drama unfold as on a giant screen ». Folkways, starting from this attraction towards the US stage, is a musical and poetic journey into American folk music, which has always been a crossroads of different cultures, traditions and people; these stories and music, handed down orally over time, are witnesses of American society in constant change, and of its characters, always poised between the limelight and the drift. This journey to the American continent is driven by the passion of searching for ancient stories and its protagonists that we feel close to us, despite the historical and geographical distance: on the road we meet the first rural Blues, the Spirituals, ballads and lyric poems and social contest , up to the modern folk poets (including Bob Dylan) heirs and interpreters of this tradition.
The project was born from an idea of the singer and composer Costanza Alegiani, accompanied by Marcello Allulli on tenor sax, effects and loops, and Riccardo Gola on double bass effects and loops.
