Об исполнителе (группе)
Vocalist/guitarist Susan Gaeta is an important member of a new generation of musicians who are exploring the rich and varied traditions of Sephardic music. Originally from Connecticut, where her grandfather played clarinet in a Klezmer band and acted in Yiddish theater productions, Susan lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina for eight years, where she performed classic jazz and traditional Argentinian folk songs.
After moving back to the United States, Susan continued her explorations in jazz, and toured with legendary Sephardic singer Flory Jagoda, a National Heritage Fellow. She also sang with Colors of the Flame,
a trio of musicians dedicated to preserving Sephardic songs.
In 2002, Susan was selected to participate in The Virginia Foundation for the Humanities "Master-Apprentice" program.
During her year-long apprenticeship, Susan began performing as a soloist, continuing Flory Jagoda's Sephardic traditions for today's audiences.
As part of Flory's Altaras ensemble, Susan appeared at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC, the Askenazi Festival in Toronto, Canada and a historic concert in Istanbul.
Susan recently released her first solo album, titled From Her Nona's Drawer, and continues to tour as a soloist, with her own Sephardi Ensemble, and with Flory.

CD Baby
World folk music, a collection of songs reflecting the musical and cultural spirit of the Balkan Sephardic Jews with contemporary vocal interpretations.
Album Notes:
Susan Gaeta is a vocalist and guitarist. She performed jazz and both American and Argentine folk music as a soloist in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Under the auspices of a Folklife Apprenticeship Program of the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities, Susan completed studies with National Heritage Fellow, Flory Jagoda, a Bosnian Sephardic composer, singer and musician honored by the National Endowment for the Arts for her contribution to preserving a traditional art form. This apprenticeship included studying and performing with Flory in numerous venues.
Susan performs nationally as a soloist, as well as a guest accompanist of Flory Jagoda. She has appeared at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, at the Greater Washington Jewish Folk Arts Festival, the Holocaust Museum and before numerous Jewish and Inter-faith communities. From Her Nona's Drawer, was recorded to preserve and continue the music of her mentor. This recording traces the evolution of the authentic a cappella women's Sephardic vocal tradition and Ladino language that Flory learned from her grandmother, to Susan's interpretation of the composer's more contemporary pieces.

Почему-то за столько лет никто не поделился своим впечатлением,
хотя песни и вокал просто восхищают. Спасибо раздающему.
