Outside of Extreme, bassist Pat Badger has played with Jason Bieler of Saigon Kick in Super TransAtlantic and of course Tribe of Judah with Gary Cherone but has never really had his own project or solo effort. We all know what he brought to the table in all of these bands beyond his solid bass playing and that was his very underrated, extremely smooth harmonies.
Now it's time for Pat to release as BADGER his first solo album, entitled "Time Will Tell".
And how it sounds Extreme's Pat Badger here?
Put one part Cheap Trick, add in a touch of Queen, a sprinkle of Aerosmith, a dab of KISS and a small pinch of Van Halen and you have "Time Will Tell", and a whole lot more.
Pat Badger is really pushing his own personal boundaries here and putting himself out there in a way that heÆs never done before in the past. Having never really been able to break through the Cherone/Bettencourt songwriting stronghold that was Extreme, Pat has enlisted the help of pop songwriter/producer extraordinaire Bleu in order to craft this album.
As you might expect from a Badger/Bleu collaboration the songs here are rocky, poppy, melodic and very, very catchy.
Of course there's Extreme bandmates collaborating, as on the track "Lost And Found" which features Gary Cherone and, with Kevin Figueiredo behind the drum kit (who plays on all tracks) makes for a very nearly Extreme studio reunion.
Also, the main guitars are performed by Joe Pessia, the six-string man in Hurtsmile, Gary Cherone's excellent band.
