Burnt Friedman returns to Nonplace accompanied again by vocals from American actor and musician, Daniel Dodd-Ellis. In 'Cease To Matter' Friedman nudges his explorative Berlin dub sound somewhere more sensual, soulful, with no loss of his exotic and otherworldly aesthetic. Incorporating impressions from Friedman's Sub-Saharan concert tour of 2013, together with inspiration from Aldous Huxley's Brave New World - who's sampled on the two-part title track - the album takes shape as a worldly, futurist premonition of decaying, transitional metropolises and cultural melt through an unstable yet buoyant blend of bristling polyrhythms, keening harmonic discord and deftly webbed dubbing perfused with Dodd-Ellis's croon and murmur landing somewhere between Spaceape (R.I.P) and Tin Man on the 'Wasteland' EP.
