These two musicians met in the vast project of guitarist Celtic Procession Brest . The adventure continues in the intimate world of a guitaresaxophone duo , without abandoning the exploration Celtic world , takes us beyond the side of jazz and improvised music .
It is a journey between jazz and Celtic music, improvised music and traditional music that suits us both musicians. BARRET Eric (saxophones ) and Jacques PELLEN (guitar) have known for over twenty years and have played together in the CELTIC PROCESSION , a grouping together some of Europe's greatest jazz and Celtic musicians. They now find themselves in a duo and it is in this form that they reconnect with intimate mixing genres to try to bring music, extensive project beyond the tradition ...
Quiet Place Where then is this quiet place Quiet Place, offers us this disc ?
I found myself writing the title track . All creation , as we know , has its share of uncertainty , doubt , suffering also . Compose this piece was for me a soothing musical moment , it is not so common . Writing came unpredictable, fast, and fun. Here is a first response .
I now look the picture that illustrates this disc . " What kind of world do we live ? "Said commonly . Where even today a quiet place in this world where we share effervescent without us meet? And the woman in the middle of the floor, she fled this world or has such found itself this quiet ? As a wisdom beyond this agitation, this Mad instead?
This peaceful place , we also sometimes find in our music, Jacques and me. In moments , but precious few where we surrender to and in music. Two people playing together - one of the most difficult encounters - and ultimately form one playing with one voice . Now egos can disappear , no longer needed . Phew . It is becoming the music ... and let them express themselves.
