Группа «Оранжевая карамель» является производной от популярного гёрлз-бэнда «After School (Афтер скул)». Три самые молодые участницы при поддержке продюсеров решили открыть свой проект. В нём акцент делается на молодость, свежесть и невинность девушек, в то время как в «After School (Афтер скул)» они представали в более сексуальном образе.
Проект будет международным – девушки намерены помимо Кореи выступать и в других азиатских странах.
18 июня 2010 года они впервые появились на телеэкранах в рамках передачи «Музыкальный банк» (Music Bank) на канале KBS, а их первый альбом появился в продаже днём раньше – 17 июня.

Группа "Super Junior‘s Heechul" помогала Карамельке в создании клипа "Роман в Шанхае" и собственно снимались в нем. Так-же сделали пародийный постер на последний сингл.

Наверное, всё-таки не оранжевая карамель, а апельсиновая, судя по логотипу группы. Orange и как "апельсин" тоже переводится.
