As a band Afasia start their musicals activities in Laja-VIII Región, at the summer of 2001 with the first and stable line-up. In the beginning Afasia was conformed for the followings: Mauricio B. (guitars / vocals), Oscar A. (bass) and Felipe G. (drums). After the rehearsal sessions and after a play covers songs period (death metal bands mainly), they quickly work in their own death doom compositions, so, in May 2002 they recorded their first four songs and they register "The Void Bringer" self financed DEMO CD-R as a result.
In January 2003 they conclude the rocording of their second self financed work, the MCD-R called "Decadence Words", here the line-up was: Mauricio B. (in charge of musical arrangements, lyrics and vocals) and Orlando A. (in backing vocals). This stuff it's an old compositions mixture, in this time, their music turn into a dense and slow doom death metal style. The "Decadence Words" MCD-R it's conformed for five songs and for two instrumental keyboards songs.
In the middle 2005, the Afasia's line-up it settle in Concepción city and become with the followings: Mauricio B. (guitars / vocals), Cesar R. (bass) and Pablo R. (drums). With this new members they created more intense and fast compositions, this songs they played in some metal gigs, in this way, they spread their music in others locations.
In August 2007 they conclude the "Dark Allegory To The Fallen Ones" MCD recording, all this, under the following line-up: Mauricio B. (in charge of musical arrangements, lyrics and vocals), Pablo R. (in support of drums mix process recording) and Orlando A. (in vocals). The "Dark Allegory To The Fallen Ones" MCD was issued and released a year later (at July 2008) through the owner band label called BFProds., this work include dense seven cuts in the death doom metal order.
In September 2007 the Afasia's line-up it settle in Santiago, at this time the band are: Mauricio B. (guitars / vocals), Orlando A. (session vocals), Pablo V. (Drums) and Roberto A. (Bass - he left left the band months later), who started the rehearsal sessions to make up the first official LP of the band.
In Aphril 2011 the production of their first full lenght CD "Confinement" is finished (through BFProds.), and it follow the most aggressive root of the band, it’s nine song of death doom.
