Ty1or Countdown надо поискать, раньше у меня он был, но потом винт сдох и пришлось все по новой находить. Кстати, нашел интересный коммент от Кокера по поводу этого сборника: "I would urge anybody not to buy it. Please, I find it embarrassing to be honest. And also the way it's packaged to look a bit modern, a bit like our sleeves now. It's a crap version... I wouldn't recommend it to anybody. And Fire records never did us any favours when we were on the label. Being signed to that label was the single biggest thing that prevented us succeeding. It almost made us split up." Тяжко понять, когда Джарвис веселится, а когда он серьезен. А сборник-то весьма заводной. Не думаю, что студия Island сделала для них больше. Сейчас-то он на Rough Trade пишется, которые лишь изредка мэинстрим дают. Dogs are everywhere меня всегда радовал в любом случае (IMHO). Пасиб! Щас обновлю свой архив! Мы не покупаем, мы "качаем"
PULP сложно как-то однозначно определить в рамках одного стиля, как в общем и многие другие британские команды, которые несколько раз меняли направление. Но однозначно, бритпоп вернул их к жизни и именно на волне популярности бритпопа тогда, в середине 90-х, группа заняла свое место. А раньше их и там не особо знали, а уж у нас вообще.
Джарвис не только превосходный музыкант, но ещё и пародист. Версия Disco 2000 под Ника Кейва - шедевр! Ну и клип на Bad cover version, конечно, тоже.
А вообще необычная для меня группа. Давно составил собственный сборник лучших вещей, но иногда переслушиваю упущенное раньше. Вроде бы все эти Ep, синглы и т.п. - только для самых отчаянных фанатов. Ан нет - иногда туда попадаются настоящие жемчужины типа Death goes to the disco, так что для понимания данной группы пришлось качать всё, а новый сборник утяжелился =)

Не совсем согласен. То есть, влияние Уокера на всю британскую поп-музыку следующего поколения не отрицаю, но мне кажется все-таки Боуи взял оттуда гораздо больше, чем кто-либо еще. Feuille

Парадокс, но когда я у друга впервые слушал альбом "Морская", мне тоже казалось, что они похожи на PULP, но со временем стал Мумий Тролль воспринимать уже как абсолютно самостоятельную группу.
