"With a growing trend in music to become more complex, have more breakdowns and better hooks it's absolutely refreshing to see a band take another stand on the music scene. Much can be said about a band keeping intricacies by using less. Imagine a band like Dream Theatre, minus the vocals and with just three members.
Albinobeach is one of SA's freshest and most talented bands out there. Being an all instrumental band they manage to capture the minds of just about everyone. No matter what you listen to - if you like music period, you will like these guys. It's a far cry from the general trend in the South African music industry to try something like this, but man alive are people glad they did. Using music as a language Albinobeach convey stories in their songs, and are more potent in doing so than a lot of musicians as a result of their simplicity.
These guys have definitely touched on something unique and interesting. Breaking the boundaries and having the balls to take the industry head-on, they seem less interested in getting signed than just enjoying themselves. This definitely comes through in their songs, and by the end of a gig they have the crowd in the palm of their hands, and rightly so.
