Bio
chronicle n. -
An extended account in prose or verse of historical events, sometimes including legendary material, presented in chronological order.
Founded in 2003, Chronicle took root in the country of Costa Rica with Brian Reiter and TJ Boeschen at the creative helm. After exploring their passion for music during their early teenage years in Portland, Oregon, Brian and TJ set out to realize their dream of cultural enlightenment by pursuing their music in a new and inspiring environment. With a couple of airline tickets, a guitar & a microphone they hopped a flight to Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica. Forming the original band, “Root Down”, by melding together a fresh mix of roots reggae, heartfelt soul and heavy hittin' funk, they traveled throughout the country performing their danceable rhythms for international tourists and enthusiastic locals. Brian & TJ soon realized the potential of an ever-expanding fan base inspired by their charismatic and energetic performances. After a year of performing live in Costa Rica they were presented with the experience of a lifetime... an opportunity to fly to Ocho Rios, Jamaica and record their first album. With their first CD, “Feel This One”, under their belt it was now time for a name change and a move back to the states to assemble a new crew. By early 2006 Chronicle stormed the Portland scene with highly emotional performances at such venues as The White Eagle, The Bitter End Pub, The Goodfoot, Lola’s Room and the Ratskeller. Not only is their musicianship outstanding and their live performances top notch, as individuals, they are truly sincere and uplifting people. QUOTE... It is said that “nothing is done before its time” and it is indeed Chronicle’s time to shine by sharing their hypnotically rhythmic sound and conscious ideals of wisdom. With their vibrant mix of Roots Reggae and Soulful Funk, Chronicle pays tribute to Stevie Wonder, Barrington Levy, Steel Pulse and of course the father of roots reggae, Mr. Bob Marley. ...and the chronicle continues.... Beginning a new effort in 2010, Chronicle has updated their line-up and music with new players and the change has proven to be a local hit; sharing the stage with Steel Pulse, Clinton Fearon, Natural Vibrations, Anthony B, One Drop, and Papa Michigan in this year so far. This Summer, Chronicle will be on tour promoting their new album "Coming Up, Volume I" 7 tracks of brand new Reggae produced by the band with the help of Old Dominion (the underground NW HipHop crew) alum and leader of Headlock Muzak, Pale Soul.
