Contains the raw footage of the Betamax re-release along with some extra features. This was ripped with a Sony SL-2100, whose audio sounds slightly differently compared to the EDV-9000. 1974 Movie Trailer was provided by supervehicle.
The Features of the 1972 Version as Compared to the 1974 Version:
1) In the intro, there are no heart beat sound effects (perhaps the now-familiar heart beat sounds were actually recorded when the 1974 version was made).
2) The title says "PINK FLOYD a` POMPEI".
3) No vocal reverb in Echoes.
4) Echoes, Part I has a different ending (David Guilmour's guitar sounds different. Was the performance originally longer?).
5) The order of ASOS and OOTD is swapped.
6) The title of OOTD does not fade in.
7) In STCFTHOTS, the Chinese gong is louder and Roger's vocal almost sounds like a single vocal mix.

"Live at Pompeii" premiered at Edinburgh Theatre in September, 1972. In 1974, the 80-minute version, which included the additional DSOTM scenes, hit the screens. This version was released on VHS and LaserDisc in the '80s and became the most famous version. Oddly enough, a Japanese TV channel named NHK broadcasted the film on March 3rd, 1973. Since this broadcast was very early, even before the official theater showings, it was the original 60-minute length version from 1972. The same film also received a 1976 Betamax release and a 1977 VHS release by Toei Video in Japan. Those videos were re-released with a change of cover art in 1983, though they still had the same, but re-telecined, footage. We can see the original film thanks to these releases. The "original" 1972 version is also available on the remastered DVD release; however, it is, sadly, just a re-edited stereo mix version with digitally altered credits made from the 80-minute version.
The Betamax re-release was recorded in BII mode with normal track mono audio. The audio comes from a muffled mono optical soundtrack; however, it sounds better than that of the other old releases and is, as far as I know, still the best source at present.
