This is perhaps the most valuable brazilian popular and folk music collection ever. As far as I know, it is the first time these 12 CDs are available in proper lossless rips. Just to give you the basic facts, the man behind this extensive (and intensive) work, Marcus Pereira, has commited suicide, and EMI - the new owner of the recordings since the 90's - has NEVER released it, despite the vivid interest of brazilian people. What a shame.
Among many brilliant but less known "roots" folk artists, we'll listen here to many very well-known top-class brazilian artists like Elis Regina, Nara Leão, Clementina de Jesus, Quinteto Violado and Renato Teixeira (the author of "Romaria"). The collection is organized by geographic criteria, with 4 cds to cover each big "region" of the country (Norte, Nordeste, Sul, and a Centro-Oeste / Sudeste mix). Give yourself a favor and download it. And if you're brazilian, do us a favor and keep it shared. You certainly how long we was expecting a lossless release of this superb collection.
