Trauma Pet were first formed in 2003 by Elie (Vocals/Programming/Guitars) and Tara (Bass/Live Keys/Vocals). In late 2005 they were joined by Pete Boyd on guitars and additional programming.
The trio were signed by Line Out Records shortly afterwards and released their debut album “You Cannot Feel This” in 2006. The album featured 10 tracks fusing electronic and acoustic soundscapes in an ethereal and haunting setting and was critically acclaimed, with the band being described as the UK’s fastest rising dark electonic pop act.
Trauma Pet went on to play a European mini tour and were showcased in numerous events and festivals such as Dark City Festival and Beyond the Veil Festival, following the release.
Sadly in the late summer, due to other commitments, Pete Boyd had to leave Trauma Pet leaving the band a duo once more.
Shortly before being booked for Whitby Gothic Weekend in November 2006, Trauma Pet briefly recruited a session guitarist and recruited Sean Suleman on drums. The band also enlisted the help of Phil Curtis Hall (Flux Acoustics) as a sound engineer.
A few months later, Philip Harrison, ex guitarist of Southampton band Dilutral was recruited full time on guitars.
The new line up, now featuring Elie, Tara, Sean and Phil, saw a slight change in musical direction as more organic components were incorporated into the band. Whilst keeping the melodic and atmospheric elements, Trauma Pet has become edgier and grittier in their approach to song writing. They have since been endorsed by Tascam.
Trauma Pet are now working on their second album with Line Out Records and will be releasing a new single “1” on the 8th of July along with the video for “1” produced by NeoVision Productions.
