об альбоме
Take an iconoclastic and energetic quartet from Toulouse, combine it with a female power trio from Bogotá, shake it up, and you will get PulciPerla! After an explosive encounter in Colombia in 2019, the fiery trio La Perla and the unclassifiable Pulcinella decided to create an original repertoire: a hybrid, swaying, and sensual music where vocals, saxophone, keyboards, double bass, and percussion blend generously, driving a powerful trance-like pulse. A quirky and striking repertoire infused with bullerengue, reggaeton, funk, and champeta influences, which stirs the fire and gets you moving. The tribal music of La Perla's percussionist singers merges with Pulcinella's explosive groove to electrify the audience and awaken their primal instincts!

Tropicanibalismo was born in Bogotá, with several university bands. It tends towards an electronic and experimental sound based on traditional Colombian tropical music. It was born from a group of students who formed Ensamble Polifónico Vallenato in 1999, mixing traditional genres with a dissonant interpretation, and laid the foundations of the scene with 'Fiesta, que viva la'. The movement was spearheaded by music students who would take inspiration in Colombia's folklore and participated in university concerts. There is an extensive use of synthesizers, and it is strongly influenced by Colombian Atlantic coast music like Cumbia, Vallenato, Salsa, and Champeta. Pioneers of the genre include artists such as Mario Galeano Toro, Eblis Álvarez, and Pedro Ojeda (all of whom were part of Ensamble Polifónico Vallenato), as well as several notable groups including Frente Cumbiero, Meridian Brothers, Chúpame el Dedo, and Los Pirañas. Tropicanibalismo generally emulates Colombian tropical music in its songwriting as well as its lyrics, which tend to describe modern problems in a mostly sarcastic tone. Purely instrumental works are also common. Usually, bands develop their own interpretations of Tropicanibalismo by mixing various musical genres to create their own sound which can range from traditional acoustic works to shrill electronic experiments.
