Об альбоме (сборнике)
The last album by Paolo Nutini? You have to dig deeply into the archive. It was in 2014, with "Caustic Love", which once again conquered #1 in the charts in the UK and other countries (DE #15). Since then, all fans of the Scottish musician have been eagerly waiting for a follow-up, and now the time has come: for July 1, Paolo Nutini has announced the release of his fourth studio album "Last Night In The Bittersweet"!
A look at Paolo Nutini's achievements so far impressively underlines why he is one of the biggest British success stories of the recent past: two of his three albums so far - "Sunny Side Up" (2009) and "Caustic Love" (2014) - reached #1 in the UK album charts (both #15 in DE), a total of 8 million albums sold and 1.5 billion streams worldwide, plus 8 million in single sales and 18 platinum certifications in the UK alone. Nutini is a recipient of the prestigious Ivor Novello Award and has been nominated several times at the BRIT Awards.
And now, "Last Night In The Bittersweet," a work with which Nutini celebrates an almost epic comeback. Over 70 minutes, it spans the spectrum from classic rock to post-punk to hypnotic krautrock - a work that is among the most profound, the most varied, simply the most satisfying that the musician has released in his career to date. The first two singles are exemplary of this: the insistent motorik rhythms of "Lose It" evoke memories of German bands of the early 70s like Can or Neu! and were written by Paolo on the bass guitar, which he has increasingly discovered for himself. At the other end of the spectrum is "Through The Echoes," a timeless classic in the tradition of Ben E. King and Otis Redding, in which Nutini brings out the full strength of his voice.
The songs for "Last Night In The Bittersweet" were written by Paolo Nutini, in places in collaboration with members of his live band. The musician also handled the production himself, alongside Dani Castelar and Gavin Fitzjohn.
