Это сборник вещей, записанных им в 1926-1927 г. Ну что тут скажешь -- разухабистый и сочный нью-орлеанский джаз on it's finest. Есть какие-то вещи -- типа 12-го трэка, "Hyena Stomp", где в качестве вокала -- смех, парадирующий гиену... ну это нужно слышать. Ну и "Dead Man Blues"... На амазоне, кстати, этот компакт оценивали 6 раз, и все оценки - это 5 из 5.
Эта запись в коллекции нужна потому что это важный документ истории джаза -- во-первых, потому что это отличный джазовый альбом сам по себе -- во-вторых, ну и потому что она на ура идёт в подвыпивших компаниях -- в третьих.
Да, CD отлично отремастерен -- ну, насколько можно отремастерить записи, которым 80 лет. Видно, что сделали всё возможное, и результат удивляет в хорошем смысле. Единственное "но" -- релиз из сети, поэтому сканов буклета нет. Audiochecker выдаёт 100% CDDA.

1. Simply some of the best music ever recorded. The opening bars of "The Chant" sound like something Stravinsky would have liked to compose. Sizzlin' soloists, cookin' compositions, the tastiest remastered sound with steamin' highs and punchy lows -- buy it, baby, buy it! Jelly always serves it up hot and smokin'!
2. As a new fan of jazz, I picked this up to see where it began. Jelly Roll claims to be the father of jazz and this cd will make you think he just might have been. Each of the songs are excellent, masterful and will make even the most stoic person tap their foot. All of them are great and memorable.
3. While there are many Jelly Roll Morton recordings on the market today, none are as superbly digitally remastered or include such a fine selection of tunes from Morton. Jelly Roll indeed was his hottest between 1926-27. These songs are IT -- the essence of New Orleans jazz. "Black Bottomed Stomp," "Sidewalk Blues," "Dr. Jazz," "The Chant" -- they're all here. Quite frankly, I have over 100 jazz CD's and this one ranks in my top ten.
