"One of the favorites from our 2016 Best Album Top List, brothers Damir and Željko Pavkov continue to explore spaces of ambient and atmospheric minimal electronica on their two new Exploration Series EPs, their first releases of 2017 under the alias EOM.
'Boreal', a more subliminal material, with lush, mellow and at the same time, deep dub techno influences, which evolves in five tracks, all with different variation of the main theme. On the track 'An Equivalence Of ...' theme almost disappears in planktonic luminescence of shimmering ambient nuances, while in 'Crevice' only residual outlines of theme from 'Symmetry' are present, which reminds me of Loscil and his submarine music, in its most minimal form, without propulsive beats. Track 'Ascend' fuses tribal punch with slowly ascending synth pad while 'Symmetry' is firmly rooted in dub techno, Boiler Room ready track with glacial instrumentation and one that channels the atmosphere of subarctic café."
