E.A.R. Acute III, это CD-проигрыватель с разными входами на ЦАП, в том числе и USB
wolfson с ламповым выхлопом на ecc88 и трансами в нагрузке - хорошее решение. ключевое - качество трансов. интересно, как сделан usb - это ведь традиционно слабое место, ужель победили? кстати, насколько переплевывает e-mu?

Видимо, он хотел сказать, что мастер-лента утеряна, и только винил необходим для качественного прослушивания. Это похоже на правду - те файлы , что на хдтракс , не выдерживают никакой критики.
Oh I didn't know... I guess I shouldn't have assumed, but I saw nothing but pages filled with Russian characters haha! What I was trying to get across, was that the master tapes were lost sometime in the 70's, and everything after that is made from a "metal mother". So heres hoping the originals at least sound somewhat decent. The new releases are unsatisfying. Also, that link to the release of "vibratin'" is interesting. I had never heard of it before, and it has the same track listing as "The Incredible Jazz Guitar...". Maybe it's a reissue? Why the different name? Oh and StigLarsson's needle-drop sounds fantastic
I wonder whether the stereo or mono original is better. I read that most small studios that recorded jazz in the 60's in the USA only recorded to stereo and "folded down" to mono, but I don't even see RLP 1169 listed on discogs.

Either one should be better than the cd's I'm trying to research the album and find out how it was recorded. Reading the Steve Hoffman forums (he's a master audio engineer), it appears that any mono recording on Riverside after 1958 is a fold down from stereo

So the master tapes were only stereo. However, a Mono recording should still sound sonically superior than the Cd releases of this album since the tapes are gone. Interesting stuff.
