Charles White: The Life and Time of Little Richard
Da Capo Press, New York, 1994 (Updated Edition)
The Bit and Modern sessions (p. 247-249)
"Bit" was a record label Little Richard was going to set up for releasing his own recordings,
but apparently it never went beyond cutting the two songs below.
c. 1965 (Los Angeles)
PERSONNEL: Little Richard (voc, pno?) with unknown pesonnel.
---- Scuba Party.........................................................................UNRELEASED
---- My Mother's Eyes....................................................................UNRELEASED
He might have done better had he continued with the label, as his next association, Modern Records,
was fruitless from almost every standpoint. It is next to impossible to sort out the Modern recordings,
since they are comprised of demos, studio warm-ups, tapes supplied by Richard, and actual Modern sessions.
These recordings, for what they're worth, are still available on numerous compilations.
According to Richard, Jimi Hendrix played on some of these Modern recordings.
December 1965 (Domino Club, Atlanta)
PERSONNEL: Little Richard (voc, pno-1) with the Upsetters.

---- Baby What You Want Me to Do (Part 1).......................................Modern 1043, LP-103
---- Baby What You Want Me to Do (Part 2).......................................Modern 1043, LP-103
"Slippin' and Slidin'" was supposedly just a studio warm-up, never intended for release!
Unk. date (Unk. location [Domino club?])
PERSONNEL: Little Richard (voc, pno) with unk. personnel (Upsetters?).
---- Whole Lotta Shakin'..............................................................Modern LP-100
---- Bring It Back Home...............................................................Modern LP-100
---- Do You Feel It (Part 1)....................................................Modern 1019, LP-100
---- Do You Feel It (Part 2)....................................................Modern 1019, LP-100
All tracks on Modern LP-100 have an overdubbed audience to enhance what sounds
like a poor "live" recording.
c. Spring 1966 (Sun Studio, Memphis)
PERSONNEL: Little Richard (voc, pno-1), with Stax session musicians (unk. gtr, bs, dms, brass)
and unk. voc gp-1.

"Groovy Little Suzie" appears to be the original Vee Jay recording.
