DOUG WILLIS is one of many alter egos of Dave Lee (also known as JOEY NEGRO).
Neighbours fans might even recognize the name’s origin as the character played by Jason Donavon’s father in the soap. Dave has been releasing his floor filling Doug Willis EPs on his Z label since the early 90s.
With titles like “Armed and Extremely Douglas”, “Doug-ism”, “Dougshit” and “Syndrum Syndrome” there is a sense of fun and humour in the music.
While the tracks themselves are heavy on the funk with hooky vocals, audacious bass lines, acid tinged synths and clipped guitars. ‘Doug’s Disco Brain’ brings together 20 of the grooviest Doug Willis moments, many of which have never been available on CD before - plus there are a couple of brand new remixes thrown in.
