George Bellas started playing guitar at the age of 7, on a Classical guitar his father had bought him. On the way home from getting the guitar, in the back seat of the car, George started to play. When he got home, he ran all around the neighborhood playing his new guitar. The next day at school, George checked out every single music book in the school library, went home, and began his quest to obtain an absolute understanding of every detail in music theory. George began practicing and studying really hard at first, to the point of which his fingers began bleeding. He would put band-aids on them and continue practicing. His influences include: J.S.Bach, L.V.Beethoven, Franz Liszt, Paganini, Debussey, Walter Piston, Ted Greene, Robin Trower, Montrose, Van Halen, Michael Schenker, Dream Theater, Magellan, Yngwie Malmsteen, Tony MacAlpine, Jason Becker...
George began performing live very early on, and gigged extensively with his bands: Union Jack, Destiny, FreeFall and Prodigy, while continually studying Music Theory, Harmony, Rhythm, Counterpoint and Form. George began teaching guitar in his early teens and opened a school of music called "Prodigy's School Of Music". During this time he continued to perform live with his bands and compose a seemingly endless amount of music. George had an attraction towards Classical counterpoint and odd rhythms very early on and are now a unique signature of his style.
George's compositions include progressive odd-meter/ exotic scale music, Neoclassical, straight forward rocking vocal tunes and pure Classical, orchestral /soundtrack music. George exhibits great technical prowess and a beautiful sense of melody, harmony and finesse.
George sent demos of his compositions to Shrapnel Records and president Mike Varney immediately recognized George's talent and versatility. He signed George to a solo deal and flew him out to California to record his first album. The musicians were: Deen Castronova - Drums, Kevin Chown - Bass, Matt Guillery - Keyboards, Brad Kaiser - Drums, Mike McCarron - Drums, George Bellas - Guitar, Bass, Keyboards. He recorded in December of 1996 and his first album "TURN OF THE MILLENNIUM" was set to be released on May 21,1997.
Shortly after signing with Shrapnel Records, George got a call from Mike Varney asking him if he would be interested in joining UFO. Phil Mogg and Pete Way decided on George after hearing George's playing and song writing. George began traveling to Pete Way's house and began writing and arranging the songs with both Phil Mogg and Pete Way. After meeting several times and developing the songs, it was time to fly out to San Francisco and record the album. The recording took place in February 1997 at Prairie Sun Recording Studios, CA. The band consisted of Phil Mogg-Vocals, Pete Way-Bass, Aynsley Dunbar-Drums, George Bellas-Guitar with special guest Eric Martin-Vocals (Mr. Big). Due to legal reasons, that were un-resolvable at the time, the band went under the name MOGGWAY and released their first album entitled "EDGE OF THE WORLD".
And in between those 2 albums George managed to write a bunch of songs and record an album for John West entitled "MIND JOURNEY". That album was recorded in January of 1997 and again at Prairie Sun Recording Studios as well as at James Murphy’s Sound Temple Studio. The album was released in May of 1997 on Shrapnel Records.
George finished his 4th album for Shrapnel Records in November of 1997. It is an all instrumental neoclassical album, rich in classical counterpoint and ripping guitar. The line up was: Deen Castronova-Drums, Barry Sparks-Bass and George Bellas-Guitar & Keyboards. This album is titled "MIND OVER MATTER" and was released in February of 1998.
George also composed music for the 2nd John West CD entitled "PERMANENT MARK" which was released in the 2nd quarter of 1998.
In March of 1998 world famous classical pianist Vitalij Kuprij flew to Chicago to record an all instrumental album entitled "EXTREME MEASURES" for Shrapnel Records. George engineered all the keyboard and guitar tracks at his studio. The album is neoclassical in style and is a showcase of mind boggling chops performed by the two virtuosos along with Jon Doman - Drums and Jon Onder - Bass, quite an incredible performance!!!
After finishing the album with Vitalij, George began writing music for a new album, which includes this incredible singer out of New York named Matthew D. Guarnere. George and Matt are working under the name "AUDIODROME".
Early 2001 George recorded "The Oracle" with the new band "Ring Of Fire". The band members were Mark Boals-Vocals, Vitalij Kuprij-Keyboards, Virgil Donati-Drums, Philip Bynoe-Bass, George Bellas-Guitar. Tracks were cut in Chicago, Steve Vai's "The Mothership" studio, Eric Norlanders "Think Tank Media Studio" as well as "The Green Room". The album is a fierce collection of well crafted songs with very nice Neoclassical melodies, chord progressions and great virtuostic performances by everyone. Any fan of the Neoclassical style should definitely have a listen to "The Oracle". Ring Of Fire will be on tour in 2002.
4th quarter 2001 George completed a 12 CD-ROM guitar course called "The George Bellas Instructional Series". This series is for anybody interested in developing better guitar technique. The course will continue to be updated and expanded upon as new technologies become available.
During the summer of 2001 George began developing music education software called "Maestro". The software covers a range of musical elements, while examining George's particular guitar and compositional style. Maestro was released 2002.
In the year 2001 George had also helped Jason Becker put together an album of songs for Shrapnel Records titled The Blackberry Jams.
During the Fall of 2002, George recorded and released another album called "Hundred Year Flood" with the progressive rock group "Magellan". The band members are Trent Gardner-Keyboards/Vocals, Tony Levin-Bass, Joe Franco-Drums, Ian Anderson - Flute, George Bellas-Guitar and others. The album ?Hundred Year Flood? was released September 10, 2002 on Magna Carta Records.
During January 2003, Bellas Music Studio Inc., George's primary media production company, released several music education software titles: EarTraining 1.5, GuitarPaper 1.2, Metronome 1.0, StudioLog 1.0 and GuitarTuner 1.0 for Mac OS X. A set of music tools written by George Bellas. The George Bellas Instructional Series continues to gain increasingly popularity amongst an army of students and educators worldwide.

June 2003, George Bellas signs with Lion Music. George’s album "Venomous Fingers", is released November 18, 2003 on Lion Music.
The year 2003 also sees George collaborating with pianist Vitalij Kuprij on his album "Forward and Beyond". The album showcases virtuostic interplay between the two artists and was released worldwide by Lion Music.
In 2004 George composed and recorded a song called "Always Remembered" dedicated to the memory of Guitarist Shawn Lane. This song was released by Lion Music on the album Shawn Lane Remembered.
In 2004 George also collaborated and recorded with keyboardist Mistheria on his album "Messenger of the Gods". This album was released worldwide by Lion Music.
During 2005 George collaborated and recorded with guitarist Marco Ferrigno on his album "Hanging Gardens". This album was released worldwide by Lion Music.
In the year 2006 George spent much time composing and working on the production of his two new albums.
In June 2007 George travels to Malaga, Spain to give several Masterclasses. While there, George was caught on video giving an impromptu public performance on a beach off the southern coast of Spain.
During 2007 George's new vocal band PALACE TERRACE signs with Lion Music and debuts with the album titled "Flying Through Infinity". The album is slated for a worldwide release on November 16, 2007.
In the summer of 2007 George was invited by Uli Jon Roth to perform live with him in Hollywood, CA at the Musicians Institute auditorium. During the two concerts George performed with Uli Jon Roth, Michael Batio, Joe Stump, Mark Boals, Robbie Kreager, Johnny Highland, Jeff Scott Soto, Paul Gilbert and other guitarists. While in Hollywood Uli had also asked George to be a part of the lectures he was giving to students about improvisation.
On November 15th, 2007 George will conduct a Guitar Clinic at Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA.
In February 2008 George's new instrumental album titled "Planetary Alignment" will be released worldwide by the Lion Music record label.

One of the most prolific and innovative composers of our time, world renowned Guitarist and Composer GEORGE BELLAS presents his latest instrumental album "Planetary Alignment". This album is so uniquely crafted that most listeners will find many composition elements they have never heard before. The style of the album is extremely modern and very progressive, it does not contain any neoclassical songs that George Bellas is also reputable for, but the album stays completely within the progressive realm.
As usually the case on George Bellas releases, George composed everything one note at a time and performed all of the instruments, plus had Drummer extraordinaire MARCO MINNEMAN perform the drum parts. Marco's drum performance's are nothing short of awe inspiring. The time signatures and rhythms contained on the album are extremely complex which Marco brought to life with his organic and immaculate drumming style. Leading guitar virtuoso George Bellas is back with his most modernly progressive solo album to date - expect the unexpected.
The concept and inspiration behind Planetary Alignment was the science of astrophysics. Each song was based on a particular subject ranging from the smallest matter known to man, to the largest and distant most objects in the universe. The goal was to compose ultra-modern music using scales, chords and rhythms not heard too often in music. The main interval the songs are all based on is the Tritone, with the root tone as middle C. It is quite a mystery where inspiration comes from when one is creating music, and it seems to only all come together when one is well practiced, emotions are stirring and the planets are aligned.

SCALES - Numerous (no name) scales from Nicolas Slominski's Thesaurus, Scale of A. Therepin, Verdi's Enigmatic, Wholetone, HalfWhole, Pentatonics, Melodic Minor Modes, Harmonic Major and many more.
Planetary Alignment was initiated using only rhythmic motives, and then later on scale choices were determined while composing the melodic and harmonic content. Most of the musical elements appearing on this album have never been used on previous George Bellas albums and offer a very fresh, ultra-modern sound.
Most all of the compositions revolve around a Middle C root while employing various tritone based elements. The production on the album was kept dry and natural sounding, with effects used quite sparingly.
Expect the unexpected and enjoy listening to what may be the most progressive release by George Bellas.

This song was the start of creating numerous rhythmic motives and then adding notes (color) to the motives. This method was then used for the entire album.
This song contains many improvised guitar solos and has some nice dynamic contrast between the various sections.

This song's concept was inspired by the idea of photons and what type of information can presently, and may in the future, be sent through this fastest known particle to man. We are currently using light to transmit sights and sounds, but perhaps in the future an entire DNA strand.

This song's concept was inspired by the smallest bits of matter known to mankind. Everything we know of in the universe contains these essential, tiny building blocks of matter. What is keeping it all together, and why isn't it all flying apart like the large objects in the universe?

This song's concept was inspired by the thought of discovering new worlds inhabited by intellegent beings. The fact that there are billions of other galaxies which harbor their own countless planets makes it seem that if we are the only ones in the universe that there is a lot of wasted space out there. This song's concept was inspired by the fact that Scientists are finding evidence of extraterrestrial presence in higher dimensions all around us even overlapping our immediate environment overlapping the Physical Universe. The idea is that our real being exists in a higher dimension and interacts with the visible one we know of.

Escape Velocity
This song's concept was inspired by the amount of energy that is required to escape an object's gravitational force. The amount of velocity required to leave Earth is much less than one would need to escape the force of much larger objects, and ultimately no velocity that can escape a black hole.

Gravitons
This song's inspiration is drawn from the particles that carry the gravitational force. Gravitons are supposedly massless particles, which would travel only at the speed of light. When these particles were intercepted, and re-exchanged, gravity would be the intended result. A Graviton is a Boson particle and is theorized to interact with Quarks and Leptons.

Planetary Alignment
If several planets are orbiting the sun at known speeds and current positions, how many years will it be before those planets are perfectly aligned and what effects will it have? Will the magnetic and gravitational forces be so strong as to create floods, earthquakes and other catastrophes? The next planetary alignment is expected to occur in the year 2438.

This song's concept was inspired by the mathematical symmetry relating to bosons and femions. AKA an attempt of a Unified Field Theory using acceleration in place of gravity.
