Доп. информация: Hoboken has a glamorous noir electro sound on this fine E.P ‘Beauty Queen’. ‘Beauty Queen’ is not as immediately catching as previous single ‘Crazy Glue’ but there is a little more depth in the sound of this particular track of eerie electro. The musical construction will appeal to all 80’s music lovers and lovers of inspired electronics everywhere.
The strong baritone vocals of lead singer Jonathan Carr are particularly memorable in the darkly romantic dark-chocolate composition ‘Beauty Queen’ (which contains the classic line “Dance that club superior”) and ‘Sophia’ – a poignant song of fallen romance. The voice sounds like a cross between Frank Sinatra and electronic robots, supported by comfortable dance beats and synth sounds. Hoboken’s sound is, to some extent, reminiscent of Depeche Mode; indeed, they have a sound that is quintessentially 80’s but not exclusively, this will get today’s crowds bouncing around without a doubt.
