Romantic jazz style This is a really great Christmas album by Emilie-Claire Barlow and if you like Diana Krall and similar female jazz vocalists, you'll probably really enjoy this. Emilie-Claire’s vocal performance on here along with her arrangements, conducting the strings as well as producing the album herself is amazing. The orchestral style backing in some songs only helps make this recording even better rather than just a straight jazz album, bringing in that old „crooner“ sound that accompanied many Christmas recordings back in the 1950's/1960's. But make no mistake, this is a „jazz“ Christmas album overall. Emilie-Claire Barlow can sing straight and beautiful like Julie London or very jazzy, like Annie Ross (from Lambert, Hendricks and Ross)- old jazz vocal trio from decades ago). Here is a singer who not only is making inroads in the jazz world but also has creative control on all the songs and albums she makes. This one came out before her big smash 'The Very Thought Of You'. This is a gem. Recorded and mixed by Daniel LeBlanc at Doane-LeBlanc Inc. The potent combination of well-honed vocal and musical chops and a charming stage presence has earned Emilie-Claire Barlow a size-able and loyal following worldwide. „With “The Beat Goes On” Toronto-based jazz singer Emilie-Claire Barlow has done what a few wise singers are doing these days, namely looking to more recent eras and songwriters for fresh material rather than the overdone American Songbook. Romantic with love What started as a simple french compilation turned into a fully fledged french album that includes all the francophone songs Emilie-Claire Barlow had recorded on her previous albums, re-arranged and re-recorded, plus six brand new songs. Winner of the Juno award Vocal Jazz Album of 2013, Toronto-born singer and voice actress Emilie-Claire Barlow got an early start to her prolific career, as her professional musician parents encouraged her to sing and study several instruments, including piano, cello, clarinet and violin. Barlow started doing radio jingles and television voice-overs at the age of 7. Since 1998 she’s released a string of albums, hypnotizing critics and audiences alike with her pitch perfect ethereal voice. In 2008 Barlow was named female artist of the year at the National Jazz Awards. The Beat Goes On album came out in the fall of 2010. The all-French album Seule ce soir followed two years later. The Juno award-winning Emilie-Claire Barlow is now clearly established as one of Canada’s very best jazz vocalists. She has also developed into an ace arranger, and both talents coalesce to stunning effect on Clear Day, the most ambitious offering yet in a prolific discography (it's her 11th album). Her interpretive gifts and pure vocals are displayed in fresh versions of tunes from a wide range of artists (Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon and Van Morrison to Coldplay, David Bowie and Queen, and Pat Metheny). All the songs were chosen to help tell the chronological story of a recent emotionally turbulent period in her life. Produced by Emilie-Claire Barlow, Steve Webster 2xHD Mastering by: René Laflamme 2xHD Executive Producer: André Perry THE 2xHD MASTERING PROCESS This album was mastered using our 2xHD proprietary system. In order to achieve the most accurate reproduction of the original recording we tailor our process specifically for each project, using a selection from our pool of state-of-the-art audiophile components and connectors. The process begins with a transfer to analog from the original 24bits/192kHz resolution master, using cutting edge D/A converters. The analog signal is then sent through a hi-end tube pre-amplifier before being recorded directly in DXD using the dCS905 A/D and the dCS Vivaldi Clock. All connections used in the process are made of OCC silver cable. DSD and 192kHz/24Bit versions are separately generated, directly from the analog signal. 2xHD was created by producer/studio owner André Perry and audiophile sound engineer René Laflamme.

In order to achieve the most accurate reproduction of the original recording we tailor our process specifically for each project, using a selection from our pool of state-of-the-art audiophile components and connectors. The process begins with a transfer to analog from the original 24bits/192kHz resolution master, using cutting edge D/A converters. The analog signal is then sent through a hi-end tube pre-amplifier before being recorded directly in DXD using the dCS905 A/D and the dCS Vivaldi Clock. All connections used in the process are made of OCC silver cable. DSD and 192kHz/24Bit versions are separately generated, directly from the analog signal. 2xHD was created by producer/studio owner André Perry and audiophile sound engineer René Laflamme.

Emilie-Claire Barlow Because Emilie-Claire Barlow is a female jazz singer from Canada, some American jazz enthusiasts have inevitably compared her to Canada's most famous jazz export: Diana Krall. But truth be told, Barlow doesn't sound anything like Krall. While Krall's performances have a sultry, dusky, very nocturnal quality, Barlow's singing has favored a youthful, girlish sweetness. That isn't to say that Barlow's bop-oriented work is unswinging — in fact, she has no problem tackling complex arrangements, high-speed scat singing, and vocalese. Besides, Barlow is from Toronto, not western Canada (where Krall grew up). Barlow has spent her entire life in Toronto, where she was born on June 6, 1976. Her father is jazz drummer Brian Barlow, who has also gone by Brian Leonard and is best-known for his work with the Boss Brass (a Canadian big band led by trombonist Rob McConnell). Not surprisingly, the drummer instilled an appreciation of jazz in his daughter and encouraged her to sing. Brian Barlow also encouraged her to study several instruments, including piano, violin, cello, and clarinet. By the time she was seven, Emilie-Claire Barlow was singing for television and radio commercials. She went on to become quite active on Toronto's jazz scene, and in 1997, Emilie-Claire Barlow and her father formed the Barlow Group — an acoustic-oriented octet whose soloists have included trombonist Russ Little and saxophonist John Johnson. The singer co-produced her first album, Emilie-Claire Barlow Sings, with her father in 1998 before recording Tribute (also co-produced with Brian Barlow) in 2000 (when she turned 24). Both albums were released independently in Canada on the Rhythm Tracks label.Emilie-Claire Barlow's unique voice and personal interpretations warmly embrace this collection of classic standards, many drawn from the American songbook. Backed on several songs by lush string arrangements, Barlow has chosen to include often ignored verses in the tradition of Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett, one of her biggest influences. The Very Thought of You was nominated for a Juno Award in 2008 for Vocal Jazz Album of the Year.

Желающие могут перекачать торрент, выбрав для себя подходящий формат альбомов. Конвертация DSD -> PCM выполнена автором раздачи с помощью программы foobar2000 + plugin foo_input_sacd 0.9.7
Желаю понять, каким боком это к DSD относится? если при различных конверсиях все, на мой взгляд, указывает на исходный LPCM формат.

Ну то есть, я понял, что материал двух альбомов был взят не из поглощенных раздач, а из другого места, и этим объясняется разница в размерах файлов. То есть, Вы теги не правили (что не хорошо и не плохо, просто к сведению). PS Маэстро chuhonka2010 просто блистает.

К сведению - я брал часть дискографии с другого ресурса, часть покупал сам, и тэги поправил. Не скрываю

Спасибо, воспользуюсь. Слушаю DSD и SACD ISO я "напрямую" с помощью ЦАПа TEAC UD-501, но для построения спектров и прочих целей хороший фильтр DSD -> PCM очень полезен, еще раз спасибо!
Не за что. Я видел не раз на hd tracks такое сообщение:
"Note: Tracks 3, 5, 11 & 12 are 44kHz sources mastered to 2.8MHz DSD."
Что подтверждает то, что чистых необработанных в ПСМ ДСД почти нет.
И то что 48/24 это эталонное качество.
Думою что если на выбор есть DSD и DXD то скорей всего DXD первоисточник. "One of the new digital formats on the block is called DXD. It stands for Digital Extreme Definition. It was initially develop by Merging Technologies for their Pyramix DSD workstation because of the difficulties associated with amplitude changes, EQ and crossfades. It was endorsed by both Sony and Phillips as a viable tool for the preparation of SACD masters. There has long been a close association between DSD and DXD…but there shouldn’t be. According to his email of last October, it was to allow the recording, editing, mixing, processing and mastering of content for the DSD portion of SACD programs in the best quality possible. So by this logic, the best quality possible for SACD (using DSD) is to record using “extreme PCM” and then downconvert to DSD 64 for inclusion on an SACD disc. Very curious."
