anyone solved the problem converting Skidrow WAW to a Matrix one? just put Registry file, put serialreg.txt can install update, but give me an eror message "cant create UNINSTAL FOLDER" creating one and putting files from other matrix game doesnt solve problem.

Does anybody have medicine for the latest TOAW patch (v4.1.0.21)? Even if I can install the patch linked above-thread with the universal cracker, running the game doesn't work.

I have no problem with it.

After installing the update (both on a working v4.0.1.23 and on a virgin install), I get asked for steam_api.dll every time I try to run TOAW.

So I hear a lot that the tactical AI in CMSF2 is much much better. Going to corners of buildings to cover them and such.
Now w/ 2.01 update they also make infantry graphically look better.
It's too bad teh entire bundle is horrendous at $165 for entire game...

нет никакой последовательности действий. у вас стим рип а у меня версия матриксов. она несколько дней свободно висела у них на сайте, но вы не удосужились ее скачать, а пользуетесь неизвестно откуда взятой стимовской версией. которая кстати если уж так нужно, ломается очень просто,или подменой стмовского длл, или сложнее с использованием SmartSteamEmu. как их использовать десять раз обсуждалось по поводу взлома гт миус фронт. это все уже десять раз обсуждались и все файлы выкладывались, но вы непонятно как читаете и куда смотрите, вам нужно тыкнуть десять раз в файл который находится чуть выше на странице, а чтобы посмотреть несколько страниц назад вам совсем в лом. я уже запарился постоянно долдонить одно и тоже, и одни те же файлы заново выкладывать которые вы почему то не можете у себя сохранить.
когда матриксы выложили инсталлятор тоав это заметили как обычно несколько человек и намекнули про это, а большинство, тоже как обычно не въехало, и только спрашивало "а где он", "а где скачать", "а чево такое происходит", а он так и лежал у всех под носом потому что матриксы еще большие тормоза чем те кто тут на этой ветке пасется. и если бы не то балабольство которое здесь развели, то можно было до сих пор спокойно оттуда ВСЁ скачивать.
я просто не могу полностью описать что я по всему этому поводу думаю, потому что матом писать на рутрекере нельзя, а цензурные слова мои эмоции не отразят. честное слово, школьники с каких нибудь шутанских веток сообразительнее чем большинство тут присутствующих.

Ну тогда иди на стратегиум. Оттуда точно все работает + много сценариев + начали делать перевод

Just for the record, same as odoakr13 I'm using a Matrix installer (in fact the one posted here). My problem is not getting a working v4.1.0.21 (scene files can be found easily enough), but a working Matrix v4.1.0.21. Unfortunately checking Strategium didn't help, as the links they have are for the old version (which I do have working).
Also note that:
a) according to the SKIDROW .nfo for the last TOAW update, the developers fucked something up in this update.
b) the alternative executable (opart4 - slow.exe) doesn't give me any problem with this update, but I'm still unsure what the difference in performance are. hexen544, are you perchance using that instead of the regular opart4.exe?

apply it to the game folder
then copy the scenarios folder in documents/mygames to the gamefolder I have not fully tested this workaround, because I think we are losing 4.1.0.20 patch benefits; we are applying a .21 patch over older versions, it's not a comprehensive update

nobody has solution to convert skidrow WAW to matrix one? using Reg file and serialreg.txt doesn work because it needs uninstall folder to update.

I'm trying to install & update to the latest patch both Pike & Shot Campaigns and Sengoku Jidai (with the files linked here, both "pre-installed" steam versions). Editing the registry with the right values makes me able to install the patches, but on startup the games crash with a CRC error (while they worked before).
From reading around and successfully doing the same process for Field of Glory, I believe I need to add a .txt file with the right name to the game's folder. I've tried the most obvious names, with no success. Any help would be appreciated, or failing that, a link to a working v1.40 Pike & Shot (which I lost in an hdd failure) and a v.1.40 Sengoku Jidai.

sadly to say not working. i have skidrow 1.0 version. i tried to instal 1.01 (changin registry values) but always same error when installing: -UNABLE TO CREATE I

That's because it can't find the location of the installed game. Double check that the registry contains this line:
"installed to"="G:\\Games\\Strategic Command WWII World at War"
and that it points to correct location.

It worked, my problem was i saw things like "C: \\ Games" and i tought i need to put spaces between paths.

Okay just lost a message I was posting to here about TOAW IV. Since it was lengthy and gave full explanation, will redo it but will be shorter version.
We Need
a. The new TOAW IV installer.
b. Patch 4.1.0.20
Here is why. Matrx/Slith changed how the game would act. They wanted it to act much like the Steam Version. Because of that if you patch the installer on this site with 4.1.0.21 you will run into the steam api error. Matrix list a fix of creating a scenario directory in My Documents (but ironically it is already there). I used the copy of steam api from Afghanistan '11. The say you need to uninstall the old TOAW IV installer, go to their site where you registered your legal version and download the newer installer. That is why we need the new installer.
In addition, the 4.1.0.20 caused issues so they issued 4.1.0.21 as a fix. However you have to install 4.1.0.20 on top of the newly released installer, then 4.1.0.21. You will need to go into My Documents and create a Scenario folder. c:\users\username\my documents\the operational art of war\Scenarios.
Now if you have the installer from here, patch with 4.1.0.21 with no 4.1.0.20, the game will work but with a problem with moving around to the different scenario folders. Now I moved what was in the Scenario folder out and then moved it back in, more or less like they say to do. You will see when the scenario window is open it will have "incomplete scenario .... CAUTION... incomplete scenario". You will then have to go down to where you locate the scenario folder and it should work. Warning if you move around more than 5 or 6 of the folders, the game will crash with a window title that says "Directory Create" and the window text box says "The System cannot find the path specified". After clicking on ok, you will get a new windows box with a title "Directory Create" and inside the box, C:\Users\UserName\Documents\My Games\The Operational Art of War IV\Scenarios\ and the blocky symbol for a zero where it looks more like a rectangle, clicking okay the game will then close. I have tried both running game menu and opart4.exe in admin mode with no success in fixing this problem.
It is to do with the Documents folder no longer used in Win 7 so they created a junction to trick the program into thinking it was installing to Documents but was actually installing into My Documents. Note many apps and programs from pre-Windows 7 didn't use a folder like My Documents so Windows had to create this fake link to My Documents from the Document folder for it to work.
You can save games. I have not played a long scenario to see if it doesn't crash. So game is working, partially. You will only be able to move around the scenario folder so many times before it crashes.
There is a new patch release, 4.1.0.23 but it goes to a missing page. They say the new installer, 4.1.0.20, 4.1.0.21 and 4.1.0.23 are found for registered users of TOAW 4. They don't say if you only need to install 4.1.0.23 or .20, .21, .23 instead.
So unless the TOAW installer on this page has been updated to the redone installer, then you should expect further problems down the road as the new installer and future patches will treat the game in the newer design and not the older design. They even say to uninstall your older installer and use the newer one. I can't find 4.1.0.20 on their site or 4.1.0.23 either.
NEEDED:
1. New redone TOAW 4 installer
2. 4.1.0.20 patch
3. 4.1.0.21 patch
4. 4.1.0.23 patch (but hold off installing till they clarify if this patch needs the older .20 and .21 patches.
So the fix we are using is really only a temporary fix. The 4 files above are needed to fully get TOAW 4 working with any patch from 4.1.0.20 and above or you can live with the crashing when moving around in the Scenario Folder.

Will we be posting the Close Combat (before Matrix) and Close Combat (Matrix versions) from GOG that has removed all the DRM and so no need to use crack, medicine, or creating registry entries.
While the site is gone, torrent freak will link you to where you can download essentially all the downloads they have up. Only 2 file storage sites have the files still. Uptobox and 1 other. The Google drive and all other links are not working or the files have been removed or deleted or expired. I have all the Close Combat versions that were posted to UpToBox. There is a new site that is replacing the previous, as the previous owner, left essentially the entire site layout and code for someone else to pick up and someone has decided to get the site back up. He is currently uploading 2,000 plus games to google drive, however you should use the list on the github website as the new owner tried to pull as many entries of where the games are stored out of a specially formated spreadsheet. That is of course if you are interested in the gog games.
So someone please, the site needs it, the new installer, 4.1.0.20 and the 4.1.0.23 patch. The 4.1.0.21 is still available to grab. Recommend these be put under the listing on page 1 with a notice about the installer till we get the new installer.
